Gov. Henry McMaster Issues Executive Order 2020-50 — Initiating Additional Emergency Measures and Consolidating Previous Orders. View Executive Order 2020-50, which requires that face coverings be worn inside state government offices, buildings and facilities, as well as requires that restaurants require employees, customers, patrons, suppliers, vendors, and other visitors wear Face Coverings (PDF).
On June 23, 2020, the Palmetto Priority program launched. The Palmetto Priority is a formal commitment made by South Carolina restauranteurs to provide a clean and safe environment for their staff and customers, to demonstrate real precautions that they are taking to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Restaurants that choose to participate in the program will complete a checklist of operational assurances as outlined in the restaurant reopening guidelines, participate in required free online education and participate in a DHEC limited-scope food safety inspection.
